Mayshe-Mayshe releases new single 'Zachter'
Bedroom-pop wizard Mayshe-Mayshe is kicking off 2021 with new single Zachter, a hypnotic meditation on the psychological cost of constant self-improvement.
The Yorkshire-based artist’s first new music since 2019’s Cocoa Smoke LP and The Colours of Anxiety single, Zachter sees writer/performer Alice Rowan take her sound in a more subtle but no less danceable direction. The gentle vocals - performed in Dutch – foreground a swaying track that is at once soothing and melancholy. Production duties were handled by Rowan and frequent collaborator Jeff T. Smith (Living Body, Juffage), with mixing from Smith.
The single’s digital release will be accompanied by a limited run of 40 vinyl 7” records from Butterfly Effect, featuring Mymble on the Little Things as a b-side. Mayshe-Mayshe will release Zachter on 29th January 2021.
